Why you need a Coach and now!

Often, one of the reasons people hesitate to work with any kind of coach/support system (therapy, counseling, life/career coaching, VO, personal trainer, etc) is because of the possibility of not seeing immediate or tangible results. This is why people are so product driven, and because they can touch a product (tummy tea, get rich quick book, etc) they’re more likely to spend money there.

As a life coach of 12 years, and now a VO coach of 5, here are just a few of the things my clients have said has been beneficial when it comes to hiring a coach.

1. Accountability

A coach doesn’t have a stake in your life, so we can give you an objective and real opinion. It can be hard for friends, significant others, and family to hold you to your wold because they looooove you and want you to be happy - and that can equate to them not holding you to the standards you've set.

2. Outside Perspective

How can you see everything in the frame when you are in the center of the picture? Think about when a friend starts dating someone and you go “mmmhm” because you already see the red flags that they’re pretending are pink. We’re able to see things for what they are through a trained eye that may not be noticeable to the client in the beginning, and sometimes in the seasoned part in your career.

3. Keeping It Real (at least the good coaches!)

Many people in our lives are nice. But we need just as many nice people in our lives as we do honest ones. We shove with love. We remind you what you are doing well, and where we can find places for improvement. Coaches should never belittle you or make you feel bad.

4. Organizational Support

We are here to help you help yourself reach and smash the goals you’ve set. We create timelines and, more importantly, deadlines together. We ensure that we explore every avenue, even the ones that may push you outside of your comfort zone and perceived limit.
